Technology has a bad reputation for getting in the way of relationships, and rightly so.
Although it’s easier than ever to stay connected with friends and family on the other side of the world, it tends to get in the way of intimate connection for many couples – it distracts us!
We spend so much time looking at that glaring screen, we’ve forgotten how to be present with our partner.
Something has to change, right?
Smartphones aren’t going anywhere, and banning phones in the bedroom just isn’t going to work for most couples.
So what to do?
We believe that phones can be used to build intimacy in relationships!
Pillow does this by holding a space for couples with our audio guided and expertly crafted collection of intimacy exercises.
Smartphones are already being taken into 3+ billion bedrooms – let’s use it to help couples connect deeper with the person sitting right next to them!
Introducing the ‘Episode’
With Pillow, Intimacy Exercises are called “Episodes” – this is to remove any stigma associated with the word “Exercise” – which can be dry and un-motivational. Episodes are associated with other forms of entertainment, like watching TV. But with Pillow, we take couples on their own episodic adventures… as opposed to living it through characters on the screen.
Homework Tool for Clients
Pillow can be prescribed to clients as ‘homework’ in-between sessions to work on and nurture their intimacy outside of the therapy room.
There’s no games and no distractions, but just the goal of spending loving, attentive and uninterrupted time together.
Each episode explores an aspect of their relationship – and gives a fresh approach to intimately connecting their mind’s and body.
The episodes work on both emotional and physical aspects of intimacy — with communication exercises mixed in with sensate focus inspired experiences.
There are over 30+ exercises (so far) that nurture a range of soft skills such as:
- Permission giving
- Creativity through touch
